This is a must if you love bacon! Going social in Downtown Vero at one of our favorite farm to table restaurants hits our weekend agenda on occasion. We love the warm rustic atmosphere, inviting bar vibe, fresh cocktails, and did I mention the food? They do not mess around with their menu. The quality is on par, and if you love bacon….you cannot miss this! The cocktails truly can rival any big city! One of our “things” with certain cocktails are the ice cubes. Certain cocktails, like the Ole Fashioned, really taste better with large, very clear ice cubes. They just do. The martinis are unique and delicate without being overly sweet served in classic martini glasses. The menu at Southern Social Kitchen & Bar is southern with a very modern twist incorporating locally grown ingredients.
Let’s Get Started
Let’s get started: jalapeno cornbread. Yes, Please! Melt in my mouth, come to Mama! So, if you love bacon this starter is a “must-have” without exception, Pigs N’ Figs. This is a baguette with nucake’s bacon (thick-cut and crispy insanely yummy) with herb goat cheese, arugula, and pickled onion. We could eat this all day long! The main dish is not so traditional. This dish t is very “sharable” and has a Southern meets Asian twist. The Brisket Fried Rice is a bowl of fried rice with perfectly cooked and seasoned brisket, okra, scallions, cilantro, carrots, corn, apricot ginger, and topped with a fried egg. Pefecto! Going social in Vero is a lot of fun if you haven’t been in a while, make an evening out of it. If you love bacon and Southern Social Kitchen & Bar peaks your must-have bacon interest, make reservations! They are popular!
