Are you up for a really incredibly amazing toe curling, knock your socks off while your taste buds sing wood fired pizza post? Buckle up! It’s here! We were out and about in Vero Beach and on a time crunch. It was late in the day and we had not eaten anything. Someone was hangry. I am not pointing fingers, but we pulled into this little spot for a quick bite without any expectations. The little wood fired pizza joint was an old gas station that has been completely renovated. Station 49 Pizza is fresh and funky. As I mentioned no expectations. As I began to peruse the menu, I was very impressed. he menu isn’t just wood fired pizza’s, but super fresh salads. They also had some pretty innovative starters and burgers. The menu is small, but perfected with flavor!
Our First Visit
For our first visit (and we will be back! You know it!). We tried two pizzas, the first one was a White Truffle Bianchi. It has mushrooms, ricotta cheese, and truffle oil. Can I say that this is where the eye roll came into play? Incredible flavor! The crust was thin and crispy, the mushrooms and truffle were to die for. We also tried the “The Works” wood fired pizza. It has crispy pepperoni, crumbled sweet sausage, mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce. We go to Vero Beach every once in awhile and cannot believe that we have driven by Station 49 several times without stopping. We will not be making this mistake again. It may even be the reason we we make the drive! I spotted an appetizer, the Arancini, that I want to give a whirl. It’s a crispy, cheesy, risotto balls with san marzano tomato dipping sauce. Stay tuned, I will keep you posted when we try it!
